Aliyah from down under

        
Global "Aliyah" (ascent) from the Jewish diaspora to Israel is up only about one per cent to 19,200 in 2013, the J-Wire news service reports, citing data compiled by the Jewish Agency for Israel and the Ministry of Immigration and Absorption.
But 265 immigrants from Oceania, mainly Australia and New Zealand, in 2013 represented a 46 per cent increase on the 182 who migrated in 2012.
