Almost half the population favour a ban on religious slaughter of animals for meat and nearly a third want a ban on male circumcision, according to the results of a YouGov poll for the JC.

The problem with this news report, as is often the case with similar reports out of the UK, is that we are not told the sample size, the method of sampling, or the questions asked. Unless we know more detail about this supposed "survey", it's not even worth any newspaper space; it could easily have been answers from three people stopped outside a butchers shop, a pub in Devon after closing time, or a mosque after Friday prayers. This so-called survey has no credibility with me until we can see the full information.
